Dancing Duchess was born from an idea between two friends, to bring a uniquely joyful, elegant and modern sparkling rosé to the English wine scene.
OUR STORY
"We’re Allie and Archie- long time friends united by a shared love of English wine. Over the past eight years, we’ve travelled the length of the country visiting vineyards, championing producers, and immersing ourselves in the world of English wine tourism.
It was during those post-lockdown days, with a renewed sense of purpose and possibility that we decided to turn our passion into something of our own, and so Dancing Duchess was born.

We wanted to create a wine with a unique offering to the English wine scene, a wine that would stand out in both style and substance. Dancing Duchess is a tribute to English elegance and British charm with a playful soul.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Allie Cope & Archie Patel
Co-founders
Archie & Allie are the co-founders of Dancing Duchess- a modern English wine brand shaped by expertise, creativity, and a long-standing friendship rooted in a shared passion for English sparkling wine.
In 2021, they co-founded Great British Rosé Week, an annual campaign that celebrates the producers, stories, and bottles shaping the future of English rosé. Since its launch, the campaign has grown year on year, gaining momentum across the industry and garnering national media coverage, becoming a much-anticipated fixture in the wine calendar.
Archie is a wine expert, creative consultant, and founder of Wine Away The Day- a platform dedicated to wine, travel, and storytelling. Over the past five years, she has worked with leading wine brands and producers in England and across the globe, consulting on everything from brand strategy and content creation, to digital storytelling and campaign development. Through Wine Away The Day, she has built a loyal community and a trusted voice within the industry, known for her approachable expertise and fresh perspective.
Allie is a wine communicator, English wine specialist, and entrepreneur who has spent the past decade working closely with vineyards, producers, and tourism boards across the UK. As a passionate advocate for the English wine industry, she continues to help shape conversations around how English sparkling is perceived and celebrated. Her work bridges the gap between trade and consumer, always with a focus on authenticity and joy.
We have used our combined expertise and creativity in the English wine industry to create a wine that we could shape in every aspect, from grape sourcing, wine style to its brand identity- we have been involved in every aspect of the creation of Dancing Duchess.
OUR WINEMAKING & BRAND
From the very beginning, we knew exactly what we wanted to create — a sparkling rosé made exclusively from 100% Pinot Meunier. A rare expression in the UK, this single-varietal cuvée allows the vibrant fruit character and delicate texture of Meunier to shine.
The grapes for our debut release come from the outstanding 2022 vintage, sourced from select vineyards in Kent — a region celebrated for its chalk-rich soils and cool climate, ideal for growing world-class sparkling wine grapes.
Made using the traditional method, with nearly two years spent ageing on the lees, Dancing Duchess is a dry style sparkling rosé that balances freshness and finesse.
The wine is expertly crafted in collaboration with the award-winning team at Defined Wines in Kent- whose precision and passion helped bring our vision to life.
We worked with a local Kent based illustrator Kate Sampson to bring our vision for Dancing Duchess to life- vibrant, modern, playful and elegant.
Dancing Duchess has a unique advantage- the freedom to source the grapes they want with each vintage, adapt with the seasons and blend deep industry expertise with creative vision.
